Due to its unique look, the hexagonal mesh is often used for creating architectural elements. Its disadvantage is a less wide choice of perforation tools and, subsequently, a smaller production variability. The price of hexagonal mesh is usually higher than of diamond or square mesh. Hexagonal mesh with higher sheet thickness can be used for walkways, too. In such case, high heels do not easily get stuck inside the path thanks to the shape and size of the mesh. Expanded metal is produced according to DIN 791 standard.
